Old Pond Railway Trail
Professional naturalist and educator Dianna McKeage is leading an all-weather walk at 8am on Saturday, February 2nd. The walk will meet at the trailhead of Crabtree Neck Land Trust‘s Old Pond Railway Trail in Hancock.
Dianna will lead a 2-hour walk that uncovers the local history of the railway, how the trail and adjacent parcels became permanently protected, ecosystem changes during the hike, and more!
Come prepared for the weather—if it is snowing or snow is on the ground, please bring snowshoes or good boots. The event will be postponed to Feb. 9 only if heavy snow makes travel difficult or heavy rain makes walking unpleasant. Please bring a mug for hot cocoa refreshments.
Difficulty: Old Pond Railway trail is flat. Overall, with very few tree roots or rocks in the trail, in fair weather this walk suits all ages and ability levels.
