Tidal Falls

In Hancock

The Conservancy owns these 4.2 acres overlooking the reversing falls in the Taunton River, and the State of Maine holds the easement on the preserve.  The property is open to the public for day use, and FBC's office is located on the 2nd floor of the building.

It is an excellent place to picnic.  There is a  pavilion and two newly installed iron grills.  Directions.

DIRECTIONS:  From Ellsworth travel north 8 miles on US Route 1 to the village of Hancock. Go through the village, turn right onto Eastside Road, go .7 mile to Tidal Falls Road, turn left and drive to the end of the road.
From Sullivan, Eastside Road is the first left after you cross the bridge.

A generous grant from Land for Maine's Future helped preserve Tidal Falls.
