Indian Point

In Ellsworth

This park is a property on the Union River in Ellsworth, across Card's Brook from the marina.

The trail winds through the woods, over bog bridges down to a crest overlooking the Union River.  The path continues to the scenic point  along the Union River.  Once there, you can view downtown Ellsworth, or look across the river, where eagles and ospreys can usually be seen.  The spectacular view of Ellsworth is worth the short hike out to the end of the point.  A couple of picnic tables are available there.

The Maine Conservation Corps built the bog bridges, and volunteers from College of the Atlantic and the Ellsworth Rotary have donated materials and their time to put some of the finishing touches on the Indian Point property.  Directions.

DIRECTIONS:  Travel south on Water Street, past the marina to Tinker Farm Road. Turn right and look for the sign to our parking lot on the right. The trail is about half a mile each way.

A generous grant from Land for Maine's Future helped preserve Indian Point.
