Tai Chi Comes to Tidal Falls
Nina Zeldin, a certified Tai Chi instructor and staff member at Healthy Acadia, thought Tai Chi was a perfect fit for Tidal Falls Preserve, Frenchman Bay Conservancy’s flagship preserve.
Frenchman Bay Conservancy “works to protect ecosystems, lands and water for the benefit of all, and Tai Chi for Health works to protect our bodies and minds any kind of mental or physical disease,” said Nina, who will start teaching Tai Chi with her colleague Julie Daigle at Tidal Falls Preserve starting on July 18th at 5:15pm.
Thanks to a new partnership with Healthy Acadia, Frenchman Bay Conservancy will be holding five “Tai Chi for Health” workshops this summer at the Tidal Falls Preserve in Hancock.
Movements from Chen, Yang and Sun tai chi styles will be introduced to participants at this beautiful outdoor setting. The workshops will be held on Saturdays July 21 and 28, from 3pm to 4pm, and on Wednesdays, July 18, 25, and August 1 from 5:15 to 6:15pm.
While the workshops are free, a $5 donation is suggested.
Participants will practice gentle, easy to learn mind-body exercises that simultaneously promote relaxation and energy.
“Tai Chi for Health” can be enjoyed by people of all ages, at all levels of physical ability.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to join in for any or all of these workshops at the Tidal Falls Preserve overlooking the scenic reversing falls!
