Introducing: 2024 Cabin Fever Hiking Challenge
February 14, 2024
We love Maine in every season, but these cold days can certainly have us wishing for spring and summer! FBC trails remain open all season long, and can provide a great way to break up the monotony of winter hibernation.
To carry us through these final winter months, we’re introducing the new Cabin Fever Hiking Challenge which starts on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
There is a “Cabin Fever Creature” poster on four different preserves. Each poster features a different animal that can be found on FBC preserves in the winter.
How to Play:
- Download and print the FBC Cabin Fever Hiking Challenge 2024.
- Make a hiking plan! Visit our Preserves page to get directions and download trail maps of the preserves listed on the form. If you’re new to hiking in winter, check out these Winter Hiking Tips by the National Park Service.
- Identify on the form which “creature” you saw at each preserve. The posters are not right at the trailhead, so you’ll have to hike to find them! But don’t worry, they will be obvious along the trail.
- Mail the completed form to P.O. Box 150, Hancock, ME 04640, or email to ellie@frenchmanbay.org.
- All participants who submit their completed form by March 31, 2024 will be entered to win an FBC swag bag prize!
