Cabin Fever Reliever
The Cabin Fever Hiking Challenge is Back for 2025!
February 15th – March 30th
Last year you loved our Cabin Fever Hiking Challenge, we listened, and are bringing it back!
We love Maine in every season, but these cold days can certainly have us wishing for spring and summer! FBC trails remain open all season long, and can provide a great way to break up the monotony of winter hibernation. We are challenging YOU to hike four of FBC’s preserves this winter!
Starting Saturday, February 15th, 2025, there will be a “Cabin Fever Creature” sign on four different preserves. Each sign features a different animal that can be found on FBC preserves until March 30th, 2025. Each participant who completes this challenge will be entered to win an FBC swag bag!
How to Play:
- Review the list of highlighted preserves below, or download / print the FBC Cabin Fever Reliever Challenge Form 2025.
- Make a hiking plan! Visit each Preserve’s webpage below to get directions and download trail maps. If you’re new to hiking in winter, check out these Winter Hiking Tips by the National Park Service.
- Identify which “creature” you saw at each preserve. The signs are not right at the trailhead, so you’ll have to hike to find them! But don’t worry, they will be obvious along the trail.
- Answers can be submitted using the digital form below, or completed physical forms can be mailed to P.O. Box 150, Hancock, ME 04640.
- All participants who submit their answers by March 31, 2025 will be entered to win an FBC swag bag prize! ** The swag bag must be picked up at our Tidal Falls Office in Hancock **
This year the Cabin Fever Creatures are hiding out at:
Frenchman Bay Community Forest, Hancock, ME.
Simon Trail, Lamoine, ME.
Indian Point, Ellsworth, ME.
Baker Hill, Sullivan, ME.
