Community Hike at Schoodic Bog Preserve

Join FBC for a group hike on Thursday, May 23 at Schoodic Bog Preserve in Sullivan, ME.

You’re invited to join FBC volunteers on a community/group hike at Schoodic Bog Preserve in Sullivan. The 500-acre Schoodic Bog Preserve sits at the foot of the southern slope of Schoodic Mountain, and includes a 150-acre bog and surrounding upland that connects to the Donnell Pond Public Reserved Land. The purpose of this hike is to visit one of FBC’s longest trails, providing the time and space for meaningful connection.

Participants can expect a relatively easy, flat hike, but there are some rougher sections of trail. It will be a longer-distance (approximately 4-mile loop) walk, with an expected duration of 2-3 hours including stops for naturalist observations, as well as water and snacks. Hikers should wear appropriate footwear and bring their own water and snacks (if so desired!)

The group will meet at 9 AM at the Tidal Falls Preserve parking lot in Hancock, ME. Once everyone has arrived, the group will travel to the Schoodic Bog parking lot for the event.

To keep our staff, volunteers, and other program participants safe, please stay home if you have any symptoms consistent with a cold. Thank you!

This hike is limited to 12 registrants, so please sign up early!
