Nature Journaling with Karen Zimmermann

Join us for Nature Journaling along the Simon Trail!

Nature journaling provides an opportunity for closer observation and a richer connection with the natural world. It encourages mindfulness, creativity, a sense of place, and has been proved to release stress.

Led by Maine Master Naturalist, Karen Zimmermann, we’ll meet at Simon Trail and meander through the mossy forest, discussing out findings along the way. We’ll gather in Simon Trail’s Outdoor Classroom, equipped with log stool seating, for a journaling exercise.  This event is free and open to the public, all are welcome.

Karen O. Zimmermann is a Maine Master Naturalist, Registered Maine Guide, watercolorist, and nature journal instructor. She lives in Otter Creek where she draws and writes about all our seasons and gets out in them whenever possible.

Know before you go: This workshop has a duration of 1.5 hours and includes a mile walk through the woods over varying terrain with occasional bog bridging. Notebooks and pens will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own supplies if they’d like. We suggest that participants review the trail description before registering to ensure the trail is the right fit for each hiker.
