Spring Hike Series 2022: Bird Walk at Corea Heath Preserve
Join FBC for a guided hike on Saturday, May 21 at Corea Heath Preserve!
**UPDATE** This hike is currently full, but we encourage you to add your name to the waitlist! If you’re interested, please email ellie@frenchmanbay.org.
Join Sherrie Downing on a bird-walk at FBC’s Corea Heath Preserve in Gouldsboro. Northern Corea Heath is a 600-acre property that links the National Wildlife Refuge to the south and Grand Marsh to the north. The wetlands and associated uplands here provide habitat for inland and coastal waterfowl and wading birds, migrating land birds, rare plants and unusual plant communities. The wooded trail forms a loop 1.25 miles from the trailhead. Scenic highlights are the overlooks of the bog and beaver dams, lodges and tranquil water flows. The program should run from approximately 8-10 AM.
**Reminders** Please bring binoculars and wear appropriate footwear. We recommend waterproof or muck boots as it can get muddy walking through the bog area. Since we will be birding, please leave your dogs at home for this hike! To keep our staff, volunteers, and other program participants safe, please stay home if you have any symptoms consistent with cold. Thank you!
This hike is limited to 8 registrants, so please sign up early!
