Volunteer Event: Card Brook Clean Up 2023
In honor of the 53rd celebration of Earth Day on April 22nd, the Ellsworth community will undertake volunteer clean-ups of roadsides and Card Brook, the City’s urban stream.
On Saturday April 22, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to Noon the City of Ellsworth in collaboration with Frenchman Bay Conservancy and the Ellsworth Moose Lodge will be hosting the annual Card Brook Clean-up. The event will begin in the parking lot on the right hand side of the Hannaford Supermarket in Ellsworth. Participants will meet at 9:30 a.m. in order to register, enter the raffle drawing, and receive further instruction. The clean-up will take place until Noon, followed by a cook-out at the Ellsworth Moose Lodge (47 Foster Street). Volunteers should come prepared by wearing sturdy footwear that can get wet and muddy. Trash bags, work gloves, hand sanitizer, snacks, and bottled water will be provided. A raffle will be held at the cook-out for a chance for volunteers to win gift cards to local businesses. In the event of inclement weather the clean-up will be held on the following Saturday, April 29, 2023. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
