Ellsworth Naturalist Hike at Jordan Homestead Preserve

Join FBC for an early summer Naturalist Hike on Thursday, June 27 at Jordan Homestead Preserve in Ellsworth, ME.

You’re invited to join FBC volunteers on an early summer naturalist hike at Jordan Homestead Preserve in Ellsworth! A commonly visited trail, prepare for a deep dive into both the natural and historical of this property. The hike will be led by Lamoine resident Carolyn Ackerman, who is a Maine Master Naturalist with a lifelong interest in the natural world of Hancock County and beyond. She also served over 20 years on the Ellsworth Historic Preservation Commission, giving her additional insight into the wonderful cultural resource of the Jordan Homestead.

Trail Description:

The Jordan Homestead Trail is a good length (1 mile) for a leisurely walk across varied terrain that includes bog bridging and a stream.  An added feature is frontage on the Union River, allowing for reflection on early Ellsworth development, including Ebeneezer Jordan who homesteaded here in the 1770’s.

To keep our staff, volunteers, and other program participants safe, please stay home if you have any symptoms consistent with a cold. Thank you!

This hike is limited to 6 registrants, so please sign up early!
