Darthia Farm Tour
Join FBC for a tour of Darthia Farm, an organic horse-powered farm on the Downeast coast of Maine. Frenchman Bay Conservancy holds a conservation easement on Darthia Farm, protecting the wildlife habitat, shoreline, and forested areas of the farm forever. Come along and connect with your community members, learn something new, and take-in the beauty of Darthia Farm.
About the farm: Darthia farm is family-run and its produce and flowers have been certified organic by Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association for 39 years. The property encompasses 250 acres of recaptured pasture, hay land, gardens, and a selectively managed woodlot. Cynthia and Bill Thayer started Darthia Farm in 1976 and were joined in 2016 by Shepsi, Liz, their daughter Harbor, and their son Cedar. Today, Darthia Farm is managed in loving memory of Farmer Bill.
