Fern Walk at Simon Trail Preserve
Join FBC for a guided hike on Saturday, June 13th at Simon Trail Preserve!
The fern walk is back! Join FBC Volunteer, Harold Peachey, for a pleasant walk in the woods and together appreciate the variety of ferns found at Simon Trail in Lamoine. Harold will focus on teaching participants the fundamentals of fern identification.
Registration is required and limited, so please sign up early! All participants must register individually.
What to expect: This walk will take roughly 2 hours, and complete the entire 1 mile trail loop. The trail is on hard-packed native soil and crosses multiple sections of narrow bog bridging. To determine whether this trail is a good fit for you, read Simon Trail’s detailed trail description.
What to bring: Plenty of water, sturdy footwear, bug & tick repellent. Consider also bringing walking sticks / trekking poles, a bag, and a journal for taking notes.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact FBC’s Community Engagement & Partnerships Manager, Jane Parlee, at jane@frenchmanbay.org.
