Guided Hike with Paige Emerson, Founder of Chubby Hiker Reviews

FBC is excited to offer a guided hike with Registered Maine Guide and Founder of Chubby Hiker Reviews, Paige Emerson, at our Day Ridges Preserve in Gouldsboro!

Too often, outdoor spaces and trails can appear as exclusive spaces. Beginner hikers, or hikers that aren’t being represented in traditional outdoor recreation marketing, may experience unfair barriers to participation in Maine’s outdoor activities. In 2020 when Paige Emerson was out hiking, she noticed quickly that one of those barriers was the unrealistic ratings of trail “difficulty” for all body types. Motivated to change that, Chubby Hiker Reviews was born! Their mission is to encourage people of all body types and sizes to recreate responsibly in the great Maine outdoors. If you relate to Paige’s message, we hope you’ll join us on this hike.

FBC strives to make nature accessible to everyone in our community, but we recognize we have a long way to go. If you have comments or reviews for trails, please share them with FBC’s Director of Communications & Community Engagement at Ellie@FrenchmanBay.org. Feedback is the best way for us to make progress – we’re all in this together!
