Mushroom & Seaweed Walk at Taft Point

You’re invited to join FBC at Taft Point Preserve in Gouldsboro to explore mushrooms and seaweeds!

Join Mycologist, David Porter for a walk at Taft Point Preserve to learn about native mushrooms and seaweeds in Downeast Maine. We will walk the wooded trail to the beach and scavenge for mushrooms during peak mushroom season as David shares his knowledge.  We will then make our way out onto the rocky coastline to talk about seaweeds and their importance to our environment and marine ecosystems.

Join us to connect with your community members and learn something new about the land we all love. This event is free and open to the public, all are welcome!

Participants should bring: Sturdy / waterproof shoes, warm layers for September weather, a visor / hat for sun protection, a notebook if you’d like to take notes and plenty of water!
