Card Brook Clean-up: Volunteer Event

Calling all volunteers!

On Saturday, May 9, the Ellsworth community will come together to clean Card Brook during the annual Card Brook Clean-Up. The event is hosted by the City of Ellsworth in collaboration with Frenchman Bay Conservancy and the Ellsworth Moose Lodge.

Volunteers will meet at 9 am in the parking lot at Bangor Pipe & Supply Inc., 55 Foster Street to check in, enter a raffle drawing, and receive instructions. Clean-up activities will continue until 12 noon, followed by a cookout next door at the Ellsworth Moose Lodge, 47 Foster Street.

Volunteers will also have the chance to win gift cards to local businesses through a raffle held during the cookout. The first 50 volunteers at check in the day of will receive a free Keep Card Brook Clean T-shirt designed by a local student artist.

In the event of inclement weather, the clean-up will be rescheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026.

What to bring: Participants should wear sturdy footwear suitable for wet and muddy conditions. Trash bags, work gloves, hand sanitizer, snacks, and bottled water will be provided.
