Forest Bathing with Shep Erhart
Reconnect to nature and your five senses with a slow facilitated walk at Taft Point Preserve in Gouldsboro.
Join Shep Erhart, a certified Forest Therapy Guide, and Frenchman Bay Conservancy for a Forest Bathing exercise at Taft Point Preserve. Forest Bathing is a traditional Japanese practice of spending time in nature and is beneficial to all ages and abilities.
Forest Bathing is not simply a hike, but a slow walk through nature where you focus on taking in the forest environment with your senses. It’s been proven to calm the mind and nervous system, lower blood pressure and stress hormones.
What to expect: Prepare for a 2-hour long event with a brief walk along the Flanders Bay Trail. Trail descriptions for Taft Point can be found here.
What to bring: Plenty of water, footwear for hiking, and bug & tick repellent. Consider also bringing walking sticks / trekking poles if needed for balance.
Registration is required and limited, please sign up early. All participants must register separately.
