Spring Hike Series 2023: Vernal Pools Hike at Long Ledges Preserve

Join FBC for a guided hike on Saturday, April 29 at Long Ledges Preserve!

Join Dr. Aram Calhoun, UMaine Professor Emerita of Wetlands Ecology, for an informational hike at FBC’s Long Ledges Preserve in Sullivan. Dr. Calhoun will discuss the ecology of this critical ecosystem, including the plants and animals that rely on them for habitat, and why vernal pools conservation is so important.

A few reminders: Please bring water and wear appropriate footwear for muddy trail conditions. We recommend bringing polarized sunglasses. You may want to bring snacks as well.

To keep our staff, volunteers, and other program participants safe, please stay home if you have any symptoms consistent with cold. Thank you!

This hike is limited to 12 registrants, so please sign up early! All participants must register individually.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Ellie Ezekiel, Director of Communications & Community Engagement, at ellie@frenchmanbay.org.
